South River
Road Widening

Funds will support the widening and elevation of approximately four miles of the existing two-lane undivided South River Road from U.S. 41 to Winchester Boulevard. This will result in four 12-foot-wide thru-lanes within a rural divided section with inside and outside shoulders, a grassed median, updated turn lanes, and five new intersections or roundabouts with pedestrian and bicycle trails/sidewalks. The project will also include updated open ditch drainage with cross drains and new storage ponds, floodplain compensation areas, lighting, landscaping, new signing and pavement markings and utility relocations.
