About the Program​​

The Voluntary Buyout Program had CBDG-DR funding available to acquire properties in flood-prone areas as a mitigation strategy following Hurricane Ian in 2022.

Low-to moderate-income (LMI) homeowners were given the opportunity to sell their homes at pre-storm values. Acquired structures are demolished, and the land is permanently preserved as open space to reduce future disaster risk.​​
